ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓrecognized the country’s top construction projects as well as leading company-wide safety and diversity programs at the 26th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards gala March 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓcongratulated the winners of its 2016 National Craft Championships competition during the March 4 Careers in Constructions awards held during the association’s Workforce Development Conference, March 1-4, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.Ìý

The 2015 National Safety Award Pinnacle, Excellence and Merit Winners are:

The FaverGray Company of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., aÌýmember of ABC’s Florida First Coast chapter, has been awarded AccreditedÌýQuality Contractor (AQC) status by ABC. The AQC program recognizes and honorsÌýconstruction firms that document their commitment to excellence in five keyÌýareas of corporate responsibility: quality, safety, employee benefits, trainingÌýand community relations.ÌýÌý

Save the date and support the competitors of the 2016ÌýNational Craft Championships by volunteering to serve as a judge. All judgesÌýmust be an ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmember and have a demonstrated expertise in one of theÌýdesignated crafts. Judges are required to be onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. onÌýWednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3, and are invited to see the winnersÌýrevealed at the Careers in Construction Awards ceremony on Friday, March 4.Ìý

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓhas added Alaska Chapter member Bill Watterson of Watterson Construction Co. to the Beam Club Chairman’s level and Metro Washington Chapter member Jim Anglemyer of WCS Construction, LLC to the Beam Club Hall of Fame level.

Shon Smith, prefabrication manager with ACI Mechanical from ABC’s Iowa Chapter, won ABC’s first Young Professional of the Year Award, and the University of Cincinnati won both the 2015 Construction Management Competition and the 2015 ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓStudent Chapter of the Year Award. The awards were presented at the Future Leaders Awards Luncheon during ABC’s Leadership Week in San Diego Nov. 11.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmember companies were honored by the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) as they accepted eight of nine Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) awards at the Nov. 10 CURT National Awards gala in Houston, Texas.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis committed to supporting industry efforts to overcome the challenges and maximize the opportunities associated with an increasingly diverse workforce, client base and subcontractor/supplier base. The ABCÌýNational Diversity Excellence Awardsrecognize members that display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs.

TheÌýIntent to Compete formsÌýfor the 2016 National Craft Championships (NCC) are now available online for ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers and chapters who think their apprentices and craft trainees have what it takes to win the national title of ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓCraft Champion. The competition will take place March 1-4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in conjunction with ABC’s Workforce Conference and Intent to Compete forms are due by Dec. 1, 2015.Ìý
