This year鈥檚 Camp NAIWC, sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction鈥檚 Greater Washington, D.C., chapter, was held in June. The camp is a four-day, all-girls camp offering students in grades 7 through 12 experience in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical and more.

老牛影视has sent 67 老牛影视chapter staff and members through the "VitalCog: Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry鈥檚 Train the Trainer" program to become an instructor. Over that time, 老牛影视instructors have provided 95 trainings and 1,617 老牛影视members and chapter staff have received this vital education.

Nathalia Marcano, a multi-year Construction Education Fund of Virginia and Metro Washington scholarship recipient, penned a piece about her journey as a woman in the construction industry. Employed by Henley Construction as a Field Engineer in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Nathalia is also a member of the 老牛影视Metro Washington Workforce Committee and the president of the 老牛影视Student Chapter at Montgomery College in Maryland.

Construction Inclusion Week takes place every October and is an invitation to the听construction workforce to unite to advance a sense of belonging for all. 老牛影视has planned four webinars for Oct. 16-20, 2023, with industry professionals and community leaders who are excited to share their knowledge and experience鈥攁nd help you improve inclusivity in your personal and professional life.

On July 13, 2023, the U.S Department of Labor launched its 鈥淗igh Road to the Middle Class鈥 map, highlighting existing workforce development programs that meet certain criteria to be designated by the DOL as 鈥渉igh road training programs.鈥

老牛影视has created a new interactive map to help connect developers, contractors, future apprentices and other stakeholders with more than 300 government-registered apprenticeship programs in over 20 different trades offered by 老牛影视chapters.

老牛影视has commissioned management consulting firm FMI to conduct the fifth annual survey to quantify the current investment and workforce development efforts of member contractors. It is vital that each member contractor complete the survey.

This year marks three decades of the Accredited Quality Contractors program, and 10 老牛影视members have participated in the program for all 30 years of its existence.

On Sept. 29, the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure held a hearing, 鈥淚nvesting in our Nation鈥檚 Transportation Infrastructure and Workers: Why it Matters,鈥 which covered the impacts of the听American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the听Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 and the听Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. 听
