In 2016, Construction Executive magazine will begin publishing 10 print issues per year and providing two double issues鈥擩anuary/February and July/August鈥攁s a way to streamline production and keep up with association publishing trends. The goal is to maintain robust print content while enhancing the magazine鈥檚 digital and social media channels for an increasingly mobile audience.

West Virginia State Senator Sue Cline (R-Wyoming) was sworn into office on Jan. 25 following a Jan. 22 court decision requiring Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin (D- W.Va.) to appoint a Republican to fill a vacant seat. Sen. Cline was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Sen. Daniel Hall (R-Wyoming), who was elected as a Democrat but switched parties prior to resigning.

Under听new rules, effective Dec. 21, 2015 the Federal听Aviation Administration is requiring anyone who buys a small unmanned aircraft system听(UAS) that is more than .55 lbs and less than 55 lbs to register it before it听is flown outside. Registration of the UAS can be done through the听online听registry听for a fee of $5; the registration听is valid for three years. Individuals who previously owned and operated a UAS have听until Feb. 19, 2016 to register.听

The听U.S. House of Representatives passed an amended version of the Restoring Americans鈥櫶鼿ealthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act (H.R. 3762) Jan. 6, which would repeal several, job-killing听provisions in the Affordable Care Act. The same version of the bill passed the听Senate 52-47听in Dec. 2015.
