ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis now accepting nominations for the 2017 Craft Professional of the Year and Craft Instructor of the Year awards. ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers, employees and chapter staff may submit a nomination by the Jan. 6, 2017 deadline. If you know of someone who works hard, makes a difference in the industry and embodies the merit shop philosophy, enter them into the competition and they could walk away with the top title and a hefty grand prize.

During the Careers in Construction Awards Ceremony March 6, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓrecognized Holley Thomas, a foreman forÌýKBR, Houston, Texas, as its 2015 Craft Professional of the Year and Jonathan Sacks, transmission and distribution training manager forÌýCianbro, Pittsfield, Maine, as its 2015 Craft Instructor of the Year. The awards were presented during ABC’s Workforce Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.Ìý

Four finalists have been chosen for ABC’sÌýCraft Professional of the YearÌýaward one of them will be chosen as the winner March 6 during the Careers in Construction Awards ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Craft Professional of the Year award is presented each year to an individual who exhibits outstanding skills and leadership in his or her craft. This year’s winner will receive a 2015 Ram Tradesman truck sponsored by Tradesmen International.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmember companies who have an employee who stands out as a team leader and the best in their trade can give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for title of Craft Professional of the Year Award. Finalists will be flown to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for the Careers in Construction Awards ceremony and the winner will walk away with a brand new 2015 Ram Tradesmen Truck.

The 2014 Craft Professional of the Year award was presented to Robert Stuart, superintendent at Stronghold Engineering in Menifee, Calif., May 2 during ABC’s National Craft Championships and Workforce Development Conference in Birmingham, Ala. The award recognizes Stuart’s work in the industry including his commitment to safety, training and the merit shop philosophy.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓchapters and members can honor a Craft Professional or Craft Instructor by submitting a nomination for the 2014ÌýCraft Professional of the YearÌý(CPOY) andÌýCraft Instructor of the YearÌý(CIOY) Awards by March 7. The CPOY winner will receive a brand-new truck and the CIOY winner will receive a cash prize May 2 at ABC’s Careers in Construction Awards Ceremony.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis nowÌýaccepting nominationsÌýfor theÌý2014 Craft Professional of the Year AwardÌý(CPOY) which honors an individual who exhibits outstanding skills and leadership and demonstrates a passion for their job in the field and giving back to the community. The winner will receive a brand new truck and a feature article in Construction Executive highlighting their hard work and dedication to the industry.Ìý

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓMay 3 recognized Michael Arledge, a journeyman electrician for Greiner Electric, Littleton, Colo., as its 2013 Craft Professional of the Year. ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓalso announced Anthony Ayotte, craft training manager for the Cianbro Institute, Pittsfield, Maine, as its 2013 Craft Instructor of the Year. The awards were presented during ABC’s 21st Century Workforce Development Conference in Birmingham, Ala.Ìý
