More than 6,100 career and technical education (CTE) students competed in 99 different craft, technical and leadership fields during the June 2014  Championships in Kansas City, Mo. SkillsUSA is the national-level competition for high school and college/postsecondary students enrolled in CTE programs.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓNational supported NCCER again this year with a financial contribution and staff onsite and many ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers provided financial support and prizes, and served as judges and on technical committees for the carpentry, masonry and industrial motor control competitions.

Boyd Worsham of ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmember company The Haskell Company participated on the competition’s Carpentry Technical Committee. In addition, the Brick Industry Association’s Bryan Light served as the Masonry Technical Committee Chair. Both the carpentry and masonry competitions were sponsored by NCCER.

The SkillsUSA Championships is the showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation which rewards students for excellence, evaluates their performance and aims to keep training relevant to employers' needs.
