ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓof Michigan praised the state’s legislature for passing language that will deter public universities from engaging in unionizing activities by requiring neutrality as a part of the 2014/2015 Higher Education budget recommendation which is expected to receive final legislative approval. The addition to the budget plan was seen as a victory for ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓof Michigan which pushed for a legislative response to Michigan State University’s decision to operate the AFL-CIO’s Building Trades Academy on their campus. “The classrooms of public universities should not be sites where union officials plan efforts to infiltrate private companies,” says Chris Fisher, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓof Michigan president/CEO. “It’s not an appropriate use of taxpayer funds.” ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓof Michigan’s full response can be seen in their press release.
