ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓsent out an action alert for ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers to urge their members of Congress to remove unnecessary, job-killing provisions in the US Innovation and Competition Act/America COMPETES Act bills.

On April 26, to the House and Senate highlighting specific harmful labor policies of and that ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓhopes to eliminate from the final compromise legislation, including instituting “card-check” provisions, expanding inaccurate prevailing wage requirements and restricting access to the nation’s registered apprenticeship system.

On May 12, the House and Senate conference committee negotiating the bills will meet for the first time. While a timeline on when the conference committee will produce a final deal remains unclear, the hope is to finish the legislation ahead of the August congressional recess.
