ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓMarch 22 joined 44 other organizations and businesses in supporting a bill, the Auto Enroll Repeal Act (H.R. 2206) that would repeal a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that requires employers of 200 or more full-time employees to automatically enroll employees in a health plan should coverage not be chosen by the employee.

In a letter sent to Rep. Frank Guinta, (R-N.H), sponsor of the bill, the groups cited a February list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) released by the Department of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services and Treasury that acknowledged the complexities of implementing the provision. The FAQ notice stated that the DOL had concluded the automatic enrollment guidance would not be ready to take effect by 2014.

“With the recent acknowledgement from the Administration of the complexities involved with implementation of the auto enrollment provision, now is the time to act on H.R. 2206 and fully repeal this provision.”
