In advance of a hearing on the topic, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓsent a letter April 14 to the U.S. House of Representatives encouraging Congress to repeal the employer mandate included in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  

Since the implementation of the healthcare law five years ago, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓhas expressed their concerns that the mandate creates uncertainty and confusion in the construction industry, making it difficult for the nation’s contractors to plan for the future and create jobs. In addition, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓbelieve that forcing employers to offer government-prescribed health insurance would leave ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers without the option to structure health care coverage options to meet their needs, ultimately resulting in increased costs and the inability to maintain affordable coverage options for their employees.
