ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓannounced it has made a seven-figure ad buy comprised of issue ads and express advocacy in six states. The ad buy will include radio and in support of pro-free enterprise candidates and issues in Florida, Indiana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. “Associated Builders and Contractors was founded on a commitment to free enterprise, and too much hangs in the balance for us to sit on the sidelines during this critical election cycle,” said 2016 ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓNational Chair David Chapin, president of Willmar Electric Service, Lincoln, Neb. of the express advocacy ads. “Many of the obstacles to growth the construction industry faces—including a cumbersome and ever-expanding regulatory regime and the highest effective tax rate of any industry—emanate from Washington, D.C. ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis working to elect candidates who will fight for the system of free enterprise that we know leads to a growing economy, more construction projects and more jobs.” The issue-based ad buy, funded by the Free Enterprise Alliance, will highlight candidates’ stances on key issues impacting the merit shop construction industry and encourage support of a free enterprise system where contractors of all sizes can compete on a level playing field based on their own merits regardless of labor affiliation.
