ABC, as a member of the Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity, called upon the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division to extend the implementation date of the first increase to the minimum salary threshold under its new final rule altering the overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

On April 10, the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget concluded its review of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Defining and Delimiting the Exemptions for Executive, Administrative, Professional, Outside Sales, and Computer EmployeesÌýfinal rule. The rule would alter overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The rule is expected to be released imminently now that it has completed OIRA review.

On March 1, the U.S. Department of Labor sent its Defining and Delimiting the Exemptions for Executive, Administrative, Professional, Outside Sales, and Computer Employees final rule to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget for final review. The rule would alter overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The review at the OIRA is usually the final step in the process before a rule is officially published in the Federal Register. ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓwill be meeting with the OIRA to express its serious concerns about the rule.

On Nov. 7, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓsubmittedÌýcommentsÌýto the U.S.ÌýDepartment of LaborÌýin response to aÌýproposed rulemakingÌýthat would alter overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity, of which ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis a steering committee member, created a grassroots toolkit for members to respond to the U.S. Department of Labor’s new overtime proposed rule. The grassroots portal allows you to send model comments directly to the DOL as well as a model letter to your senators and representative in Congress opposing the new proposed rule. The deadline to submit comments is no later than Nov. 7.
