ABC’s membership strategy is to continuously grow and deliver value to a diverse and committed membership. To help with this effort, ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓlaunched its new diversity page during the association's Workforce Week '17 Conference the week of Feb. 27. The page features information on Diversity Resource Groups (DRGs), the Diversity and Inclusion Summit and ABC's Diversity and Inclusion Awards.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced the winners of the National Craft Championships, the 2016 National Safety Awards, the National Diversity Excellence Awards and the Excellence in Construction® Awards during its annual conference Workforce Week ’17 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Workforce Week is ABC's annual celebration of the best in merit shop construction, recognizing the contributions of members, chapters and craft professionals to the construction industry and their dedication to excellence.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓrecognized the country’s top construction projects as well as leading company-wide safety and diversity programs at the 26th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards gala March 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓneeds volunteer leaders for the launch of its Diversity Resource Groups (DRGs). Do you have a passion for diversity and inclusion? Do you have leadership experience in the construction industry? Would you like to assist ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓmembers in becoming world class diversity leaders? Would you like to help ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓdrive industry diversity and inclusion in order to attract a diverse workforce to the construction industry?

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis committed to supporting industry efforts to overcome the challenges and maximize the opportunities associated with an increasingly diverse workforce, client base and subcontractor/supplier base. The ABCÌýNational Diversity Excellence Awardsrecognize members that display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓis hosting its first annualÌýDiversity and Inclusion SummitÌýJune 22-23 in Washington, D.C. The summit will bring together industry leaders and key stakeholders who understand the value of supplier diversity in construction and who want to network and learn from other like-minded companies and individuals. The event, which is being held in conjunction withÌýABC’s Legislative Week, is free to the first 100 attendees.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓFeb. 11 congratulated the winners of the 24th annual Excellence in Construction Awards– the industry’s leading competition, where the top construction projects and the firms that displayed exemplary commitment to safety and diversity in 2013 were recognized during the awards celebration at the Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) December 12 released the Spanish version of theirÌýladder safety smartphone appÌýwhich is designed to improve the safety of extension ladders by using visual and audio signals to make it easier for workers to check the angle of the ladder and offers useful tips for using extension ladders safely. When a user’s phone is set to Spanish language, the Spanish version of the app will install when downloaded.

ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓlaunched a new social media initiative which will enhance the Hispanic advocacy efforts within the organization, with three of ÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓNational’s social media accounts now available in Spanish.Ìý

TheÌýÀÏÅ£Ó°ÊÓNational Diversity Excellence AwardsÌýrecognize members that display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs. Registration is open until Nov. 15.
