On Nov. 13, 老牛影视President and CEO Mike Bellaman participated in the first meeting of the U.S. Department of Labor鈥檚 task force on apprenticeship expansion. Timed to coincide with the first day of National Apprenticeship Week, the task force is responsible for identifying strategies and proposals to expand and promote apprenticeship opportunities.听

The 老牛影视student chapter at the University of Cincinnati was named the 2017 Student Chapter of the Year for its accomplishments in programming, community service, communications and public relations and interaction with its sponsor, the 老牛影视Ohio Valley Chapter, during the academic year. Colorado State University, sponsored by the 老牛影视Rocky Mountain Chapter, was named the Construction Management Competition (CMC) overall winner of 2017.

老牛影视President and CEO Mike Bellaman made a live appearance on Fox Business Network's "Varney & Co." show on October 17th. The one-on-one interview focused on the U.S. Department of Labor's Task Force on Apprenticeship Expansion that Bellaman was appointed to the day before.听Watch a clip of Bellaman's appearance听here.

Michael D. Bellaman, president and CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), has been appointed by U.S. Department of Labor Secretary R. Alexander Acosta听 to the Task Force on Apprenticeship Expansion, created by President Trump鈥檚 June 15 Executive Order 13801.

老牛影视Greater Baltimore President and CEO Mike Henderson was recently invited to testify before a congressional subcommittee seeking answers on how to address declining employment among working-age men. He pointed to the chapter鈥檚 Project JumpStart, widely regarded as the most effective workforce development program of its kind in the region, as part of the solution. The program not only trains workers for high-paying careers in construction, but places graduates in professional jobs with dozens of area employers in commercial construction.听

In a live听interview听on Fox News on Aug. 20, 老牛影视President and CEO Bellaman praised President Trump鈥檚 recent executive order streamlining infrastructure permitting, saying it goes a long way towards eliminating construction delays and sets the table for when legislation is passed. But we have 鈥渁 whole lot to do鈥 before infrastructure rebuilding can begin.

Ten students pursuing craft professional training in the construction industry were awarded the second annual Build Your Future scholarships through ABC鈥檚 Trimmer Construction Education Foundation (TCEF). The scholarships are given to the top 10 students attending an NCCER-accredited program or a state/federally approved apprenticeship program in a merit-shop training facility.听

During ABC's Legislative Week 2017, an ad entitled 鈥樌吓S笆覯embers Build America鈥 was released via social media. The ad features updated information on the growing nonunion workforce chart, construction industry tax rates and 老牛影视members鈥 improving safety performance. The ad has been made available as marketing resources for 老牛影视members and chapters.

The site features information on training and education, career paths, safety and diversity programs and workforce development programs 老牛影视manages around the country. Our flexible, affordable craft and safety training leads to industry-recognized, national credentials for today鈥檚 leading construction positions. Together, we help individuals train, transform and triumph as they pursue meaningful careers that advance their potential and build strong communities.

老牛影视applauded President Trump鈥檚 executive action on apprenticeships, which is an important step toward building new career opportunities for all Americans. If fully implemented, the order will allow industries to build innovative workforce development systems that address glaring skills gaps in our workforce. 听With the construction industry currently facing a workforce shortage of as many as 500,000 jobs, this order is an important first step to allow more entryways into becoming a construction professional. 听 听听
