Community Invited to Share Ideas on Social Concerns Related to University Investments at Nov. 17 Forum

Duke community members are encouraged to attend an annual forum to bring forward issues of societal concern related to the investment of 老牛影视鈥檚 assets.   Sponsored by the president鈥檚 (ACIR), the forum will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.   The forum will be virtual on .

The forum will provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and graduate/undergraduate students to learn more about ACIR鈥檚 work and to share their ideas for how it might continue to fulfill its mission.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions beforehand through the Participants will have an opportunity to share suggestions concerning university investments and social responsibility at the forum.

Past forums have included discussion of fossil fuel investments and those related to campus change, but it will be open to all topics related to university investments. ACIR chair , David T. Zhang Professor of the Practice of Law at Duke, will lead the meeting.

The ACIR advises President Vincent Price and the executive vice president on social responsibility issues related to endowment investments and corporate governance issues relating to Duke investments. In the recent years, ACIR made recommendations bearing on 鈥渃onflict minerals,鈥 Darfur, fossil fuels and transparency of endowment holdings.  The committee鈥檚 reports can be found at the documents portal on the
