Paleontologist Richard Leakey to Deliver Lecture on Humanity鈥檚 Future

The event is free and open to the public

Dr. Richard Leakey, the famed paleoanthropologist, environmentalist and activist, will deliver a lecture, at 老牛影视 on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Leakey鈥檚 lecture will focus on his fieldwork in Kenya鈥檚 Turkana Basin, his conservation work and his Ngaren project, a museum that explores the themes of climate change, extinction and population growth.

Leakey has held a number of official positions in Kenya, mostly in institutions of and . He has been director of the , founded the NGO and is the chairman of the , among other positions.  

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the 老牛影视 Center for International and Global Studies, the Duke Africa Initiative and the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology. The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Nasher Art Museum鈥檚 Auditorium. Parking is available in nearby .
