Watch: Chapel Discussion 'What To Say When Someone Is Dying'
A free public discussion hosted by Duke Chapel on how to have difficult conversations about death and dying has been rescheduled to March 24.
The event takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel.
The conversation, 鈥淲hat to Say When Someone is Dying,鈥 is part of the chapel鈥檚 series that seeks to connect people from various walks of life to discuss issues of shared concern.
The panelists are all from Duke and include: , associate professor of pediatrics and Christian philosophy; , nurse practitioner with Duke Palliative Care; , professor of English, law and African-American studies; and , professor of preaching.
The Rev. , dean of the chapel, will moderate the discussion.
鈥淒eath can sometimes seem far away on a college campus, but it is, of course, snooping around for its next victim. It is something we all must face sooner or later because death is a part of life,鈥 Powery said. 鈥淚 look forward to hearing from these Duke community members who have brought forth wisdom and healing in the face of grief.鈥
The discussion is being organized in partnership with the 老牛影视 School of Nursing, Duke Medicine's Pastoral Services and the Duke Divinity School.
A recording of the conversation will be available on the Chapel's website a few days after the event.
