The Duke LMS is used for online, in-person and virtual employee training. Brian Aucoin, Duke Health Technology Solutions Senior IT Manager and project leader, says the system has 40,000 active users and 3,000 courses in the catalogue, about 90% of that as online training.

Much of the upgrade will be unnoticed, as the transition to the cloud allows for quicker updates, access to transcripts and learning histories. The new system also includes improved analytics for reporting and tracking.

In time, the interface should make it easier for users to self-discover classes, Evans said.

鈥淭his is going to be a product that our users are going to find more helpful for a longer period of time and is going to have some longevity,鈥 Evans said.

Users are encouraged to complete any training currently 鈥淚n Progress鈥 by May 6; any progress for items not completed by May 6 will be lost. Existing registration for courses registered within the last 90 days will be migrated, and training can be restarted in the new system.

Records of completed training courses will be migrated to the Saba Cloud LMS.

Access to the new Duke LMS will continue to be through existing links on the and through the site.

A has been developed to provide an overview of the new platform and its features.
