鈥淎fter abolition in 1929 Iranians restructured their society to accommodate a life without enslaved labor and in the process rewrote their histories and redesigned society to erase slavery completely.鈥 -- Beeta Baghoolizadeh is a historian and Associate Research Scholar at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies at Princeton University.
