Paul Grantham has been named Assistant Vice President for Work Culture and Communication Services in Duke Human Resources.
As part of an expanded role, Grantham will assume new responsibilities supporting programs that promote a positive work culture and sense of belonging within the University. He will also continue to oversee the Office of Communication Services, which provides support for central administrative units and produces the Working老牛影视 print and digital channels.
Grantham will report to Antwan Lofton, Vice President for , and serve as part of his leadership team.
鈥淚 am excited to continue working with Paul in this expanded role,鈥 Lofton said. 鈥淗e will help coordinate and lead Human Resources鈥 efforts to advance the work of the Racial Equity Advisory Council and develop new programs and resources to foster a greater sense of community, collaboration, and support for our people and Duke鈥檚 missions.鈥
Grantham will help develop affinity groups within the University and mentor programs for groups such as new managers. He will also assess data and workplace trends to develop strategies that support changing workplace dynamics.
Grantham has worked at Duke for 21 years in various leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President for Communication Services, Deputy Emergency Coordinator, and interim roles overseeing Duke鈥檚 Coronavirus Response, Disability Management, and Parking and Transportation Services. Responsibility for these interim roles will transition to Russell Thompson, the interim Vice President for Operations.
Before joining Duke, he worked in corporate communications in the financial services industry and as a journalist. Grantham has a master鈥檚 degree in English and African-American Literature from North Carolina A&T State University, where he also taught composition, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in English from Guilford College.
