The ambassador of India to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, visited ��ţӰ�� April 21. He met with university leaders, spoke with students and faculty and explored potential partnerships with President Vincent Price. He was accompanied by Ms. Suja Menon, head of commerce wing, Embassy of India.

“We were delighted to welcome the ambassador to our campus,” said Eve Duffy, associate vice provost for global affairs. “Coming out of the pandemic we see many opportunities to build key collaborations with institutions of higher education across the globe, and especially in India, in order to address the world’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change and health.”

Sandhu touched on various aspects of the Indo-U.S. relationship. He noted that educational and knowledge partnerships between the the two countries are crucial and have a long history . He also encouraged Indian students to explore opportunities in India after finishing their education in the United States.

South East Asian students met with the ambassador and asked him wide-ranging questions, including on topics like the agricultural sector in India, the ambassador’s career path, work permits in the United States and the U.S.-India alignment on global leadership.
